Yalgoo Wagga Wagga Gold Mine
Project Category: Development
-
Prospecting Licence P59/2415 is located just 15km from Yalgoo and granted on 01 November 2024 and expires on 31 October 2028 and can be renewed for a further 4 year term. The tenement can be converted to a Mining Lease which could then be granted for an initial 21 year term (extendable) for full scale mining.
The Project is situated in the Yalgoo Greenstone Belt of the Murchison Province. Major shear zones bound the greenstone belt with the tenement being located within a major shear zone.
The Project has old historical workings likely from the early 1900’s comprising of two (2) exposed historical gold mine shafts, trenches and old gold diggings. Excellent opportunity to develop a scrape and metal detect mining operation for gold nuggets and hard rock crushing, grinding to extract gold through gravity circuits. Initially the work program scope includes: Gold is hosted in quartz with iron rich rocks (ferruginous quartz veins). The spills from the mine shafts can be crushed to extract gold.
Proposed work phases include:
1. Excavation of costeans (trenches) to locate high grade quartz veins for sampling and hard rock crushing and metal detecting for nuggets.
2. Excavation of test pit for trial mining operation.
3. Excavation of trial mining of large areas for metal detection to produce gold nuggets. The aim of the work program scope is to test the viability to commence larger scale mining and to convert the prospecting licence into a mining lease.
There is no native title subject to the prospecting licence during current phase of work.
EXCELLENT INFRASTRUCTURE
The Yalgoo town centre is located just 15km to the west; the Geraldton Mt Magnet Road (sealed highway) is located 1.5km north; a gas pipeline located 500m north; and there are access tracks into the project.
